The BME-MTA Exotic Quantum Phases 'Momentum' Research Group is a team of young theoretical physicists at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), focusing on condensed matter physics. Our primary goal is to study interacting quantum systems using modern field theoretical methods. Our research focuses on exotic states and non-equilibrium phenomena in nanosystems, low dimensional systems, and ultracold atomic gases.

The group has been founded in 2011 as part of the Momentum (Lendület) program of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA). It is funded by the MTA and the BME, as well as by other funding agencies.

Group leader: Gergely Zaránd
Supporting institutions/agencies: BME, MTA, OTKA, NFÜ, ERC
